Power

Let's Talk POWER...

Power, its one of our most priceless personal assets, but we tend to give it away, and in some cases, throw it away to any person or situation that upsets us. We feel powerful and strong when things are going our way, its easy to do that. But the measure of True POWER is standing strong in the moment of adversity. Great people did not achieve greatness by throwing the towel in, by throwing themselves a pity party, by giving there power up to difficulties. NO! They stood tall and pushed through no matter what! They had that.....”Nothing and no one is going to stop me attitude!” I believe weakness is nothing more then a habit we picked up and learned. The good news about that is, habits can be broken. Being comfortable with your own power can be achieved! It takes practice. When you catch yourself feeling weak, stop, recognize it and be willing to change it. All it takes is a decision! Decide to know and hold on to your power.

I had a cat named Talula. She was old and feeble (but not really). She knew her power. When my daughters mastiff, Scarlet, would visit. This huge mountain of a dog would quiver at the sight of the small simple cat. I use to laugh and say, “that dog does not know her power, but that cat sure does.” I can't help but believe we are the same way in life. A small situation arises in our life and hisses at us and we quiver in the presence of it because we perceive it to be much stronger, bigger and more powerful then us. But in truth, we are so much more powerful then anything that confronts us. We just need to hold on to that power, through thick and thin. Power is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger you will get. Faith and trust in your self are the barbells to help develop this muscle. So don't let anything stand in the way of your happiness and peace! Know your Power!

Letting Go

Let's Talk Letting Go.....

I was sitting on my swing one morning before work and I was enjoying the beautiful autumn colors and the beautiful warm sun on my face. I heard rustling from the trees and looked to see what was making a the noise. The gentle breeze was tossing the leaves back and forth and they were floating to the ground. It was so loud, it got my attention. I've experienced fall many times before, but this time was different. It was as if the trees and leaves were trying to tell me something..... Let Go..... Release.... Just Let Go of what doesn't serve you any more. Because if the leaves stayed on the trees, the weight of the snow and the winter wind could break branches and weaken the tree itself. That could also go for people. If we don't let go our our disappointments, fears, regrets, sorrows, grief of the past, we take it to our future, and that can weigh us down and weaken us. Like the trees, we need to release and let go, so we can move forward with ease into the spring of new birth and growth. A great Letting Go technique is EFT Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping). There are many free videos on YouTube by Brad Yates for EFT. So if your feeling weak, your carrying to much past around. Just Let Go!
